Living here in Arlington gives us the advantage of lots of celebration options but not having to go to the National Mall. We hope you have a safe and happy 4th! 🇺🇸

4th of July Parades in Arlington

Waycroft-Woodlawn: 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Park with potluck and crafts

Bellevue Forest Citizens' Association 4th of July Parade: Bikes, trikes, wagons, and dogs welcome! The Parade begins promptly at 9:15 a.m., at the intersection of Roberts Lane and Oxford Street

Bluemont’s Bell: The Bluemont neighborhood will celebrate by ringing the bell in Constitution Gardens (the corner of N. George Mason Drive and Wilson Blvd.) at noon on July 4th

Douglas Park Civic Association 4th of July Parade/Potluck: Starts at 10 a.m. with bicycle decorating for kids and ends with a reading of the Declaration of Independence

Fairlington July 4th Parade: Every year, Fairlington residents show up by the hundreds to celebrate Independence Day and participate in the annual July 4th Parade, sponsored by the Fairlington Citizens Association and Fairlington Villages 

VFW Post 3150 (2116 19th St N, Arlington, VA 22201) Arlington Independence Day/National Bell Ringing/BBQ: This event is the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day with your friends and family. The BBQ starts at 2 pm

Watching the fireworks from Arlington!

Gravelly Point Located on the west bank of the Potomac River in Arlington, Gravelly Point is just north of Reagan National Airport on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Famous as a site for watching airplanes take off and land, this national parkland is also a prime viewing area for the capital fireworks. The park has a few picnic tables and portable restrooms, so be sure to bring a blanket.

Mount Vernon Trail The Mount Vernon Trail winds alongside the Potomac River offering uninterrupted views of Washington, DC's skyline, making it the perfect spot to watch fireworks this 4th of July. Bring your own bike or rent one and enjoy a secluded fireworks viewing experience.

Key Bridge Connecting Arlington’s Rosslyn and DC's Georgetown neighborhoods, the Francis Scott Key Bridge offers stunning views of the Potomac River and D.C. Although there’s no seating on the bridge, you can stroll over from the Rosslyn Metro station and enjoy a standing-room-only view of the national fireworks from the sidewalk.

Long Bridge Park Within a mile of the National Mall as the crow flies, Arlington’s Long Bridge Park and its three athletic fields offer great fireworks views along with plenty of room to spread a blanket for a picnic. Long Bridge Park is located at the north end of Arlington’s Crystal City neighborhood and is easily accessible from the Crystal City Metro station.

Please note: The Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center lot closes at 3 p.m. and cars will be towed if still in the lot. Arlington County Police Department has established No Parking in either lot at Long Bridge Park after 3 p.m.

Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima) & Netherlands Carillon At the famous Iwo Jima statue in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood, or right next door at the Netherlands Carillon, you’ll get the panoramic view of fireworks and National Mall monuments and memorials, as well as the iconic statue of Marines raising the flag. Pinch yourself: you’re perhaps in the most quintessentially American location to celebrate the nation’s birthday!

Lubber Run Summer Concert Series: The Lubber Run Summer Concert series features free performances from a variety of genres including big band, blues, soul and orchestral music as well as cabaret at the Lubber Run Amphitheater. The series will run Friday, June 6 through August 1, 2025, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 11am.
